Affordable Housing Launches for 532 Neptune Avenue in Coney Island, Brooklyn

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 532 Neptune Avenue, a three-tower residential complex in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Designed by Zproekt Architecture and developed by Cammeby’s International Group and Rybak Development, the project consists of a pair of 19-story structures and a 20-story building rising from a shared podium. The development yields 499 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 150 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $90,275 to $227,500.

1709 Surf Avenue Breaks Ground In Coney Island, Brooklyn

Construction has begun on 1709 Surf Avenue, an 11-story residential building in the Coney Island West masterplan in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Designed by S9Architecture and developed by BFC Partners in collaboration with the NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD), the NYC Housing Development Corporation (HDC), Citi, and Goldman Sachs, the structure will yield 420 affordable rental units. The project is the third and final phase in the affordable housing complex, which will introduce a total of 1,242 apartments. The property is located along the waterfront between West 17th and 19th Streets, directly across from Maimonides Park, home of the Brooklyn Cyclones.

Mayor Adams Announces Progress For Three Coney Island Projects

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has announced progress for three housing initiatives in Brooklyn’s Coney Island that will deliver approximately 1,100 new homes, including over 720 affordable and supportive units. The projects include Coney Island Phase III by BFC Partners, the Coney Landing project by Settlement Housing Fund, and a forthcoming mixed-income development on Surf Avenue. All projects are part of the Adams administration’s “City of Yes for Families” housing strategy.

RFP Released For Coney Island West Development in Coney Island, Brooklyn

Mayor Eric Adams and the New York City Economic Development Corporation have released a request for proposals (RFP) for the first city-owned parcel in Coney Island West, a redevelopment masterplan in Coney Island, Brooklyn. The initiative aims to create 1,500 new mixed-income residential units, retail space, and other public improvements including the reconstruction of Reigelmann Boardwalk, a $42 million renovation to the 55-year old Abe Stark Sports Center, shoreline enhancements along Coney Island Creek against storm surges, sewer upgrades, and new streets. Coney Island West is generally bound by Surf Avenue to the north, Coney Island Beach to the south, Maimonides Park to the east, and West 23rd Street to the west.
