Historic St. James Methodist Episcopal Church, From 1871, Slated for Demolition at 45 East 126th Street in Harlem, Manhattan

Full demolition permits have been filed for the three-story building at 45 East 126th Street, in Harlem, along with adjacent lots 1975 and 1981 Madison Avenue. Owned by Metropolitan Community United Methodist Church, the three buildings were built at separate times, but some of the construction dates back to 1905 according to NYC Planning records. The Metropolitan Community United Methodist Church was founded in 1942 yet the edifice it currently occupies was built from 1869-71, for St. James Methodist Episcopal Church of Harlem. The Neo-Gothic building features a noble bell tower and vaulted interior.

Demo Permits Filed for 2000 2nd Avenue in East Harlem, Manhattan

Full demolition permits have been filed for the four-story building at 2000 2nd Avenue, in East Harlem, Manhattan. The 6,516-square-foot structure built in 1910 has been used as mixed commercial and residential building since, with 6 residential units and 3 commercial units. It is unclear what plans are in store for the 1,896 square foot lot, as no new construction permits have been filed yet. George Cambourakis of Structural Engineering Technologies PC is listed as the applicant of record.

Demolition Permits Filed for 212 East 125th Street in East Harlem, Manhattan

Full demolition permits have been filed for the four-story building at 212 East 125th Street, in East Harlem, Manhattan. The 6,467-square-foot structure listed as built in 1900 has been used as industrial loft space, with two units across the four floors. The area is serviced by the 4,5,6 trains at the 125th Street station, one block away. It is unclear what plans are in store for the 2,523 square foot lot as no new building permits have been filed yet.

Permits Filed for 2150 Second Avenue, East Harlem, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for a ten-story residential building at 2150 Second Avenue in East Harlem, Manhattan. This differs from an earlier proposal for the site in 2014, measuring about twenty feet shorter. The site is three blocks away from the 110th Street subway station, serviced by the 6 trains. Mark NG will now be responsible for the development.

Renderings Revealed for HAP NINE at 247 East 117th Street in East Harlem

HAP Investment Developers first announced 247-249 East 117^th Street in 2017 following a purchase of the build site for an estimated $3.2 million. Today, the project is known as HAP NINE, and YIMBY has a first look at the design’s renderings from Fischer + Makooi Architects.

The site is three blocks away from the 110^th Street subway station on Lexington Avenue, serviced by 6 trains, and four blocks away from the 110^th Street subway station on Central Park North, serviced by the 2 and 3 trains. Manhattan-based Rose Companies is responsible for the development.

Updated Permits Reveal Expanded Development at 217 East 119th Street, East Harlem

Located on a vacant, interior lot between 2nd and 3rd Avenues, the eight-story building will contain over 28,000 square feet of residential area and a total of 45 units.
