New Renderings Reveal $800 Million Renovation of Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing, Queens

Renderings have been revealed for proposed renovations to Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing, Queens. Led by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and designed by ROSETTI, the $800 million undertaking will modernize the main venue of the US Open Tennis Championships and introduce the new Player Performance Center. The project will be entirely self funded by the USTA. The stadium is located within the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, which is bounded by Meridian Road to the north and west and Flushing Meadows Corona Park to the south and east.

Construction is nearing completion on 33-33 Prince Street, a four-story mixed-use building in Flushing, Queens. Designed by My Architect PC for Prince Real Estate LLC, the 55-foot-tall structure will yield 16,403 square feet of commercial and manufacturing space, according to zoning diagrams. The building will also contain a cellar level and a 20-foot-wide rear yard above the first level. The property is located on an interior lot between 33rd Avenue to the north and 35th Avenue to the south.

Construction is coming to a close on the Northern Tower, a 13-story hotel and residential building at 35-32 Leavitt Street in Flushing, Queens. Designed by Raymond Chan Architect and developed by Century Development Group, which signed an agreement in late 2016 with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, the 152-foot-tall mixed-use structure will span 228,000 square feet, with around 101,000 square feet for a 244-room Westin hotel, 2,270 square feet for community facility use, and 42,100 square feet of residential space. The residential component comprise 49 condominium units on the top three floors. The property is alternately addressed as 137-61 Northern Boulevard and located at the corner of Northern Boulevard and Leavitt Street.
