Renovation Finishes on HSS Sports Medicine Institute West Side In Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Skanska has completed an $8 million renovation of the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) Sports Medicine Institute West Side at 610 West 58th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. The project expanded and modernized the hospital’s outpatient care facility, which serves more than 95,000 patients annually. Work was performed in collaboration with Batska Consulting Group and required coordination with the building’s landlord, tenants, and HSS operations due to the facility’s location within an occupied residential structure. The property is located between Eleventh and Twelfth Avenues.

Permits have been filed for a 12-story mixed-use building at 622 Eleventh Avenue in Midtown West, Manhattan. Located between West 45th and West 46th Streets, the lot is a short walk to the 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal subway station, serviced by the A, C, and E trains. Cheskel Schwimmer of Chess Builders LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Housing Lottery Launches for 420 West 42nd Street in Midtown West, Manhattan

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 420 West 42nd Street, a 40-story residential building in Manhattan‘s Midtown West. Designed by Hardy Holtzman Pfeiffer Architects and developed by The Brodsky Organization in 2000, the structure yields 210 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 14 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $78,858 to $198,250.

Two Manhattan West Completes Construction in Midtown West, Manhattan

Last week, Skidmore Owings & Merrill and Brookfield Properties announced the completion of Two Manhattan West, a 58-story commercial skyscraper in Midtown West. The 935-foot-tall structure yields 1.9 million square feet of office space and is the final component of the 7-million-square-foot Manhattan West complex, a $4.5 billion, five-building master plan more than 40 years in the making. R&R Scaffolding Ltd. supplied the BMUs and AECOM Tishman served as the general contractor for Two Manhattan West, which is located at the corner of Ninth Avenue and West 31st Street, between the James A. Farley Building to the east and Hudson Yards to the west.

High Line – Moynihan Connector Opens To The Public in Midtown West, Manhattan

Construction is finished on the High Line – Moynihan Connector, an L-shaped 600-foot-long extension of the 1.5-mile High Line linking the popular elevated green park with the five-building Manhattan West complex in Midtown West. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and James Corner Field Operations and developed in a public-private partnership between Empire State Development (ESD), Friends of the High Line, and Brookfield Properties, the $50 million project is composed of two ADA-accessible bridges that provide a safer and easier means of access to Moynihan Train Hall and Penn Station. Turner Construction Company was the general contractor for the walkway, which runs along West 30th Street between Ninth and Tenth Avenues and turns to the north at Dyer Avenue to connect to the elevated southwestern corner of the Manhattan West plaza above West 31st Street.
