TSX Broadway’s New Superstructure Begins Assembly at 1568 Broadway in Times Square, Manhattan

Construction has begun on the new superstructure for 1568 Broadway, a 470-foot-tall hotel in Times Square. Designed by PBDW ArchitectsMancini Duffy, and Perkins Eastman and developed by L&L Holding CompanyMaefield Development, and Fortress Investment Group, the project involved the partial demolition of the former DoubleTree Suites by Hilton to make way for the new 550,000-square-foot tower, which will be dubbed TSX Broadway. The overhaul also includes the raising of Kirchoff & Rose’s 108-year-old Palace Theater by 30 feet to make room for ground-floor retail space. The site is located at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 47th Street to the east of the red TKTS stairs, and is slated to cost $2.5 billion.

Margaritaville Resort Nears Completion at 560 Seventh Avenue in Times Square, Manhattan

Façade installation is nearing completion on the Margaritaville Resort New York at 560 Seventh Avenue in Times Square. Designed by Stonehill Taylor and developed by Sharif El-Gamal of Soho Properties along with MHP Real Estate Services, the 29-story, 375-foot-tall tower will yield 234 guest rooms with island-inspired interior designs. The project, which is located at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 40th Street, is expected to cost around $300 million.

Demolition work is continuing at 1568 Broadway in Times Square, where the 46-story, 470-foot-tall building now stands less than 20 stories high. Designed by PBDW ArchitectsMancini Duffy, and Perkins Eastman and developed by L&L Holding CompanyMaefield Development, and Fortress Investment Group, the project involves the partial demolition of the former DoubleTree Suites by Hilton and construction of a new 46-story, 550,000-square-foot hotel tower dubbed TSX Broadway, on its foundations. This also includes the preservation of the 108-year-old Palace Theater, which will be raised 30 feet to make room for ground-floor retail space. The site is located at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 47th Street, directly across from the TKTS stairs.
