International Restaurant Chain Beefbar Announces Debut U.S. Location at 105 Hudson Street in Tribeca, Manhattan

Beefbar, an upscale, meat-focused restaurant will open its first U.S. location at 105 Hudson Street, a long-vacant retail space and former home of Nobu’s Tribeca outpost. The venture is the first collaboration between global restaurateur Riccardo Giraudi of Monaco and TriBeCa Hospitality, the sponsor of Beefbar’s restaurant.

Construction is rising on the Warren Street Hotel, an 11-story hotel building at 86 Warren Street in Tribeca. Designed by Stonehill & Taylor Architects and developed by Solil Management, the 135-foot-tall structure will yield 44,000 square feet with 70 guest rooms operated by Firmdale Hotels, a restaurant, a drawing room, an orangery, a bar, and a private event space. Pavarini McGovern, LLC is the general contractor, Kit Kemp is the interior designer, and Paul Taylor under the Warren Street Hotel LLC is the owner behind the previously filed permit applications for the project, which is located between Greenwich Street and West Broadway.

Work Resumes on Anish Kapoor’s Bean Sculpture at 56 Leonard Street in Tribeca, Manhattan

Work is nearing completion on Anish Kapoor’s reflective “bean” sculpture at the base of 56 Leonard Street, an 831-foot-tall residential skyscraper in Tribeca. The last curved sections of the amorphous work of art have finally been assembled, closing off the missing outer section facing the corner of Leonard and Church Streets. 56 Leonard Street was designed by Herzog & de Meuron and Hill West Architects and stands as one of the tallest structures in Lower Manhattan, with a distinguished massing of irregular cantilevering floors. Anish Kapoor is also known for designing Chicago’s chrome steel-plated Cloud Gate and the ArcelorMittal Orbit from the 2012 London Summer Olympics.

Foundation work is complete at 75 West Broadway, the site of a ten-story, 120-foot-tall residential building in Tribeca. Alternately addressed as 61 Warren Street, the 55,000-square-foot structure is designed by BKSK Architects and being developed by Cape Advisors and Forum Absolute Capital Partners. First Standard Construction Inc. is the general contractor for the project, which is located between Warren Street to the north and Murray Street to the south.

Exterior work is nearing completion on 456 Greenwich Street, an eight-story hotel building in Tribeca. Designed by Stephen B. Jacobs Group with Martin Brudnizki Design Studio as the interior designer and developed by Caspi Development, the 94,000-square-foot structure will yield 96 guest rooms operated by Groupe Lucien Barrière of the Hôtel Barrière Le Fouquet’s Paris. AECOM Tishman is the general contractor of the edifice, which is bound by Greenwich Street to the east, Desbrosses Street to the south, and Washington Street to the west.
