Renovation work is ramping up on 125 Barclay Street, a ten-story commercial building in Tribeca. Originally constructed in 1932 as the World Telegram Building, the 280,000-square-foot structure is undergoing an overhaul that involves the replacement of the brick envelope with a modern glass curtain wall, the full gutting of the interiors and restoration of the terracotta flooring, and the construction of an 11th story above the current parapet. Hunter Roberts Construction Group is the general contractor and Lilker Associates is the MEP and FP engineer for the property, which houses the offices for municipal employee union DC37 and is bound by Murray Street to the north, Barclay Street to the south, and West Street to the west.

The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) has approved proposals to complete ground-floor renovations and lighting enhancements on 32 Avenue of the Americas, a 27-story Art Deco office tower in Tribeca. Completed in 1932 by Ralph Thomas Walker of Voorhees, Gmelin and Walker, the building features a landmarked façade and lobby with extensive mosaic murals by Hildreth Meière.

Construction has topped out on the vertical expansion of 67 Vestry Street, a 13-story residential building on the Hudson River waterfront in Tribeca. Designed by BP Architects and developed by Iliad Realty Group, the project involves the addition of four stories atop a historic 88,712-square-foot Romanesque structure and will yield 13 condominium units with interiors by Gachot Studios. Urban Atelier Group is the general contractor and King Contracting Group is handling the masonry work for the property, which is located at the corner of Vestry Street and West Street, directly across from Hudson River Park.

Designed by Roger Ferris + Partners and developed by Related Companies, the project involves the replacement of the structure’s windows, extensive interior refurbishments, and conversion of the former rental units into 176 condominiums. Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group is handling sales and marketing for units ranging from studios to four-bedroom homes, with pricing ranging from around $1 million to $10 million. Hollander Design is the landscape architect for the property, which occupies a full block parcel bound by Watts Street to the north, Desbrosses Street to the south, Washington Street to the east, and West Street to the west.
