288 East 88th Street’s Façade Progresses on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Façade installation is moving along on 288 East 88th Street, a 24-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Hill West Architects and co-developed by Alchemy-ABR and Azur in partnership with Carlyle Group, the 350-foot-tall structure will span 96,543 square feet and yield 45 rental units with an average scope of 1,842 square feet. The project will also include 2,507 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a cellar level. The property is alternately addressed as 1695 Second Avenue and located at the corner of Second Avenue and East 88th Street.

232 East 84th Street’s Expansion Progresses on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction has topped out on 232 East 84th Street, a five-story residential building in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The construction board and building permits posted on site indicate there will be a total of four apartments and a cellar level. 68-1509 Estate LLC is listed as the owner of the property, which is located on a very narrow rectangular parcel between Second and Third Avenues. It’s unclear who is the architect, or what the final design will look like.

Demolition Underway for 34-Story Skyscraper at 1410-1418 Third Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Demolition is ramping up at 1410-1418 Third Avenue, the site of a planned 34-story residential skyscraper on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects, with Hill West Architects as the architect of record, and developed by Skyline Developers, the 508-foot-tall structure will yield an undisclosed number of units along with 2,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The property is alternately addressed as 185 East 80th Street and is situated at the corner of Third Avenue and East 80th Street.

Renderings showcase 1655 First Avenue, a forthcoming pair of 23-story residential buildings on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by S. Wieder Architect for Cheskel Schwimmer of Chess Builders LLC, the 235-foot-tall structure will collectively span 193,000 square feet and yield 198 rental units with an average scope of 725 square feet. The mixed-use project will also include ground-floor commercial space, a cellar level, and a 30-foot-long rear yard. The 12,000-square-foot property is alternately addressed as 355 East 86th Street and located at the northern corner of First Avenue and East 86th Street.

The Remi Nears Completion At 1026 Third Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction is almost finished at The Remi, a 24-story residential tower at 1026 Third Avenue in the Lenox Hill section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by Kahen Properties, which purchased the assemblage of three adjacent properties for $34 million in July 2022, the 273-foot-tall structure will span 100,000 square feet and yield 81 rental units in studio- to two-bedroom layouts with an average scope of 1,200 square feet, as well as ground-floor retail space. The ground-up development is located between East 60th and East 61st Streets. Corcoran New Development is handling leasing.
