Rendering Revealed, Ground Broken for Gene Kaufman-Designed Marriott at JFK Airport

Construction has started for an eleven-story Marriott hotel at John F. Kennedy International Airport, in Queens. The 270,000-square foot structure will create 540 rooms, along with 4,000 square feet of meeting space, a lounge, a drinking establishment, offices, a fitness center, and parking. Gene Kaufman Architects will be responsible for the exterior design, as well as the interiors, public spaces, and guest rooms.

Earlier this week, YIMBY reported on filings for a nine-story mixed-use building at 1182 Woodycrest Avenue. Now, a first look at the building’s elevation reveals yet more information about the project. The development is located in the Highbridge neighborhood of The Bronx, just five blocks away from the 4 train’s 167th Street subway station. The project is being co-developed by Crown Architecture and Consulting LLC.

The site is six blocks away from the 25th Avenue subway station, serviced by the D and F trains, and two stops away from Coney Island. The NYC School Construction Authority will be responsible for the development.
