Stevens Institute of Technology’s Expansion Nears the Halfway Mark in Hoboken, New Jersey

Construction is nearing the halfway mark on the much-anticipated Student Housing and University Center at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey. Design Collective and Wallace Roberts and Todd are the designers of the development, which consists of 16- and 18-story towers that rise from a three-story 70,000-square-foot base. The project aims to house 994 students, helping accommodate Steven’s projected campus population of 3,500.

LIU’s Expansion at 61 DeKalb Avenue Nears Topping Out in Downtown Brooklyn

Construction is getting close to topping out at One University Plaza, a 34-story mixed-use structure at 61 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by RXR Realty, the 435-foot-tall building is part of Long Island University‘s expansion and will add 370,960 square feet of new space to the campus.

YIMBY checked in on the progress made on NYU‘s expansion located at 181 Mercer Street in Greenwich Village. Davis Brody Bond and KieranTimberlake are the designers of the full-block, 23-story, 750,000-square-foot structure, which sits along Houston Street directly to the east of I. M. Pei’s three-tower University Village complex. 181 Mercer Street is bound by Houston Street to the south, Mercer Street to the east, and Bleecker Street to the north.

Moise Safra Cultural Center Stands Completed at 130 East 82nd Street on the Upper East Side

Exterior work is finishing up on the Moise Safra Cultural Center, a mixed-use project designed by PBDW Architects at 130 East 82nd Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The 14-story building is named after the late Jewish philanthropist Moise Safra and will largely cater to Orthodox Jews of Syrian ancestry.

The reinforced concrete superstructure is rising at 61 DeKalb Avenue, aka One University Plaza, a 34-story Long Island University expansion in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by RXR Realty, the 435-foot-tall, 370,960-square-foot building is part of a new complex that includes an athletic field, fitness and wellness facilities, and additional academic space.

Preparations Underway for BIG’s Two-Skyscraper Development along Williamsburg’s Waterfront

Preparations for construction appear to be underway at the site of the River Street Waterfront Master Plan, Bjarke Ingels Group‘s proposed two-skyscraper, 1000-unit complex along the Williamsburg waterfront in Brooklyn. Developed by Two Trees, the project includes the 600-foot-tall 87 River Street and 650-foot-tall 105 River Street, as well as the alteration of the shoreline to create a circular beach, a 2.9-acre park, and two breakwaters directly to the north of the six-acre Domino Park.

Sacred Heart University Reveals Plans for New Hockey Arena in Fairfield, Connecticut

Sacred Heart University’s Fairfield Campus will soon include a new hockey and skating arena built to support nearly 4,000 spectators. The arena will function as the home of the university’s Division I men’s and women’s hockey team, the nationally ranked figure skating team, and the men’s ice hockey club.
