Permits have been filed for a six-story homeless shelter at 38-80 11th Street in Long Island City, Queens. Located between 38th Avenues and 40th Avenue, the lot is near the 21 Street-Queensbridge subway station, served by the F train. Matthew Gross of non-profit UBC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 70-foot-tall development will yield 110,511 square feet residential space. The building will have 146 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 756 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a 58-foot-long rear yard, 19 enclosed parking spaces, and 19 open parking spaces.
Edelman Sultan Knox Wood/Architects is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits have not been filed yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
