The next phase of development at Harrison Urby arrives this fall and will introduce 381 rental apartments and an expansion of existing amenities at the residential complex. The property is located at 200 Angelo Cifelli Drive in Harrison and is designed by Concrete, a Netherlands-based architecture group that is also responsible for Urby properties in Jersey City and Staten Island.
Curtain wall installation is wrapping up on One Bell Slip, a 31-story residential tower in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Brookfield Property Partners and Park Tower Group, the 369-foot-tall structure will yield 413 units spread across 292,029 square feet, as well as 992 square feet of commercial space on the lower floors. The project is located at the corner of Bell Slip and Commercial Street along the Newtown Creek and East River waterfront, and is part of the massive Greenpoint Landing riverfront development.
Façade installation is continuing to progress on 227 West Street, a pair of 30- and 40-story residential towers with complementary stepped cantilevers and setbacks in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by OMA with Beyer Blinder Belle as the architect of record and developed by both Brookfield Property Partners and Park Tower Group, the mixed-use project is part of the 22-acre Greenpoint Landing development along the East River. James Corner Field Operations is the landscape architect, DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the structural engineer, Thornton Tomasetti is the façade consultant, and Highbury Concrete is responsible for building the 450- and 351-foot tall reinforced concrete edifices, which are rising right off the corner of Eagle and West Streets.
The Landmarks Preservation Commission is now reviewing proposals from Skidmore, Owings & Merrill to renovate and restore the historic Lever House at 390 Park Avenue in Midtown East, Manhattan. Scope of work for the proposed alterations includes replacement of non-original plaza paving and bases, the installation of new signage and stainless steel doors, a new entrance into the Casa Lever restaurant on the ground floor, and the replacement of aluminum panelling and glass storefronts at the ground floor. The design team will also restore exterior stone, metal, and ceiling materials around the property.
The Bungalow has opened as the latest addition to the Brookfield Place shopping and recreational center in Battery Park City. Located at the Upper Plaza of Brookfield Place, the same location of Brookfield’s seasonal ice skating rink, the plaza draws inspiration from the beachside retreats of Montauk, Long Island and offers fast-casual dining, a specialty bar, bocce courts, and ample seating.
