Edgemere Commons Building B1 Tops Out at 5119 Beach Channel Drive in Far Rockaway, Queens

Construction has topped out on Edgemere Commons’ second all-affordable housing structure at 5119 Beach Channel Drive in Far Rockaway, Queens. Designed by Aufgang Architects and developed by Tishman Speyer’s TS Communities, the company’s affordable housing development platform, and The Arker Companies and Slate Property Group, the 247,000-square-foot structure will yield 237 rental apartments in studio to three-bedroom layouts, with 36 reserved for the formerly homeless, as well as 8,000 square feet of retail space and 7,500 square feet of community facility space. The building, also know as Edgemere Commons Building B1, is situated between Beach 50th and Beach 53rd Streets.

L+M Development Partners, Triangle Equities, and The Bluestone Organization have closed on a $95.7 million loan to complete Beach Dunes III, a mixed-use affordable housing property on the border of Edgemere and Far Rockaway in Queens. Located at 331 Beach 35th Street, the building will include 146 mixed-income apartments, 2,100 square feet of commercial space, and a 1,160-square-foot community center.

Designed by Urban Architecture Initiatives and developed by BRC and Camber Property Group, the eight-story property will include a mix of 147 deeply affordable units, 100 shelter units with supportive services, tenant amenities, and a community facility.
