Excavation and pilings are getting underway at 111 Washington Street, the site of a 64-story residential skyscraper in Manhattan’s Financial District. Developed by Carlisle New York Apartments, the 712-foot-tall structure will yield 326,221 square feet with 462 residential units, 7,000 square feet of commercial space, and a 60-foot-long rear yard. Consigli Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 8 Carlisle Street and located at the corner of Washington and Carlisle Streets.

Retailer Century 21 Reopens at 22 Cortlandt Street in Financial District, Manhattan

Century 21 has reopened in its Financial District flagship in Manhattan after nearly three years of closure. Located at 22 Cortlandt Street, the bargain fashion retailer first opened in the 1960s as a family operation run by Al and Sonny Gindi. The size of the store, once ranked among the largest retail locations in Manhattan, has been reduced from its original six-story footprint to four floors at the primary 22 Cortlandt Street building.

Exterior work is closing in on completion on the Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center at the 16-acre World Trade Center site in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan. Designed by REX with Davis Brody Bond Architects as the executive architect and developed by The Perelman, the 138-foot-tall marble-clad structure is bound by Vesey Street to the north, Fulton Street to the south, Greenwich Street to the east, and Skidmore Owings & Merrill‘s One World Trade Center to the west.

Construction is nearing completion on 15 Beekman Street, a 27-story campus expansion for Pace University in the Financial District. Designed by Manish Chadha of Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by SL Green Realty, the 338-foot-tall tower will yield 213,084 square feet with classrooms, dorm rooms, a dining facility, library, and learning center. New Line Structures & Development is the general contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 126-132 Nassau Street and located at the corner of Beekman and Nassau Streets.

Construction is rising above street level on 1 Park Row, a 23-story mixed-use building in the Financial District. Designed by Fogarty Finger Architects and developed by Circle F Capital, which received a $90 million construction loan from Parkview Financial in 2021, the 305-foot-tall structure will yield 103,000 square feet with 58 condominium units in one- to three-bedroom layouts, along with 19,000 square feet of office and retail space on the lower levels. Cauldwell Wingate is the general contractor and 1 Park Row Development LLC is the owner of the property, which is located at the intersection of Park Row and Ann Street.
