Property At 139 15th Street Prepares For Development, Gowanus

Property owner Salvatore Lombardi has filed demolition permits to remove the existing two-story, two-unit house at 139 15th Street, in southern Gowanus, two blocks north of the Prospect Avenue stop on the R train. The property could yield a new development of 6,164 square feet, and Brownstoner notes that applications were filed in 2011 for a five-story, eight-unit building. The site hasn’t changed hands since 2010, so plans for such a project may still be in the works.

Façade Being Installed at 363-365 Bond Street, Gowanus

The Lightstone Group’s expansive 700-unit mixed-use development at the properties 363 and 365 Bond Street, in Gowanus, was taking shape in April, and now cladding is being installed on a six-story portion, reports Brownstoner. Two structures will rise up to 12 stories along the canal, and Goldstein, Hill and West is designing the project. Completion is expected by early 2017.

Four-Story, Seven-Unit Building Filed at 205 12th Street, Gowanus

The property owner, Domnic Acona, of 205 12th Street, in Gowanus, has filed applications for a four-story, seven-unit residential building measuring 4,960 square feet. Frank Petruso is designing, and an existing two-story wood-framed townhouse must first be demolished.

Five-Story Hotel Still Planned for Vacant Lot At 529 President Street, Gowanus

Newly filed construction applications have revived plans filed in 2013 at the vacant parcel spanning 529-543 President Street, in Gowanus, where RJ Hospitality is to construct a five-story, 101-key hotel measuring roughly 31,100 square feet. Raymond Chan is designing, and the site’s former single-story predecessor had been demolished in 2008.

Three-Family Residential Building Planned for 485 Union Street in Gowanus

Brownstoner has spotted schematics posted on-site at the vacant lot of 485 Union Street, in Gowanus, where a four-story, three-unit residential building measuring nearly 3,900 square feet is planned. The adjacent properties are also under ownership of Anthony Mannino, the developer, and AE Design Solution is designing. Per signage, completion is expected in June 2016.
