Construction is complete on Forty-Six Fifty, a 22-story mixed-use building at 4650 Broadway in Inwood, Manhattan. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Arden Group, the 260-foot-tall structure spans 351,000 square feet and yields 222 rental residences in studio to two-bedroom layouts, as well as 80,000 square feet for the School on the Square charter school and an 38,000-square-foot supermarket. The property is located at the intersection of Broadway and Sherman Avenue, directly east of Fort Tryon Park.

Construction is complete on Tryon North, a 12-story mixed-use building at 4778 Broadway in Inwood, Manhattan. Designed by Aufgang Architects and developed by Maddd Equities, which purchased the property for $12 million in 2018, the 99,000-square-foot structure yields 80 affordable units in studio to two-bedroom layouts, as well as 18,759 square feet of lower-level commercial. The project stands on a 12,000-square-foot interior parcel by the corner of Broadway and Dyckman Street.

Construction is finished on The Eliza, a 14-story mixed-use building at 4790 Broadway in Inwood, Manhattan. Designed by Fogarty Finger and Andrew Berman Architect and developed by The Children’s Village, CLOTH, Ranger Properties, Housing Workshop, and New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, as well as the New York City Housing Development Corporation and the New York Public Library (NYPL), the structure contains 174 affordable rental units in studio- to three-bedroom layouts, as well as a public library on the first two levels, a preschool, and community facilities. The property is named in honor of Eliza Hamilton, the wife of Alexander Hamilton, and is located on an interior lot between Dyckman and Academy Streets.

Homeless Shelter Progresses at 3966 Tenth Avenue in Inwood, Manhattan

Exterior work is progressing on 3966 Tenth Avenue, a four-story homeless shelter in Inwood, Manhattan. Designed by Edelman Sultan Knox Wood Architects and developed by Lilia Marini-Calves of the Bowery Residents’ Committee (BRC) and Inwood Housing Development Corporation, the 44-foot-tall structure will yield 12 units with an average scope of 360 square feet, as well as a 30,000-square-foot community facility and a rear yard. The property is located at the intersection of Tenth Avenue and West 212th Street.

Foundations Underway For 5055 Broadway in Inwood, Manhattan

Below-grade work is underway at 5055 Broadway, the site of an 11-story mixed-use building in Inwood, Manhattan. Designed by Fischer + Makooi Architects and developed by Timber Equities, the 155-foot-tall structure will span 50,808 square feet and yield 60 rental apartments in one- to two-bedroom layouts, with 25 percent dedicated to affordable housing, as well as amenities and ground-floor retail space. The 7,500-square-foot property is located between West 215th and 216th Streets and was once a surface-level parking lot.

Housing Lottery Launches for Amana NYC at 112 Seaman Avenue in Inwood, Manhattan

The affordable housing lottery has launched for Amana NYC, a seven-story residential building at 112 Seaman Avenue in Inwood, Manhattan. Designed by Matt Markowitz and developed by Mahmoud Saab, the structure yields 27 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are eight units for residents at 70 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $48,858 to $218,010.

Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Arden Group, which acquired the property for $54 million in 2019, the 260-foot-tall structure will span 351,000 square feet and yield 222 rental apartments, 38,000 square feet of lower-level retail space, and an 80,000-square-foot charter school. Aqozfi Inwood LLC is listed as the owner and Consigli Construction Co. is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the intersection of Broadway and Sherman Avenue, directly east of Fort Tyron Park.

405, 407 West 206th Street Rise Past Halfway Mark in Inwood, Manhattan

Construction is rising above the halfway mark on 405 and 407 West 206th Street, a sprawling two-tower mixed-use project in Inwood, Manhattan. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle in a joint with the LMXD affiliate of L+M Development Partners, MSquared, and Taconic Partners, the 751,687-square-foot structures consist of 14- and 17-story volumes standing 140 and 175 feet tall and will yield 700 rental units with 281 dedicated to affordable housing, as well as a supermarket under the city of New York’s Food Retail Expansion to Support Health Program program and an immigrant-centered performing arts center owned and operated by the People’s Theatre Project. Inwood Lot 9 Development Associates LLC is the owner, Community League of the Heights is the community sponsor, and Chatsworth Builders is the general contractor for the $416 million project, which is bound by West 206th and West 207th Streets and Ninth Avenue.
