LPC Reviewing Proposal for Modification, Expansion of 69 Gansevoort Street In Meatpacking District, Manhattan

A proposal has been submitted to the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) for the modification and expansion of 69 Gansevoort Street in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. The proposal, assembled by David Bucovy Architect, is being presented for public hearing today. If approved, the project will introduce façade alterations and a rear and rooftop expansion of the existing two-story commercial building. The property is located between Greenwich and Washington Streets.

Developer Selected For Gansevoort Square Redevelopment In Meatpacking District, Manhattan

The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) has announced the selection of Gansevoort Square Partners, a joint venture between Douglaston Development and Kinwood Partners, to lead the residential component of the Gansevoort Square redevelopment in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. Located on Little West 12th Street between Washington Street and Tenth Avenue, the project will deliver 590 mixed-income housing units and ground-floor retail and community spaces. Up to 55 percent of the apartments will be permanently affordable.

Next Phase Announced For Gansevoort Square Redevelopment In Meatpacking District, Manhattan

New York City Mayor Eric Adams and the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) announced the next phase of the Gansevoort Square redevelopment project, which will bring up to 600 units of mixed-income housing to Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. Located on Little West 12th Street between Washington Street and Tenth Avenue, the project is part of Mayor Adams’ “Manhattan Plan,” which aims to create 100,000 new homes in the borough over the next decade.

The Landmarks Preservation Commission is set to review a renovation proposal for 675 Hudson Street, a five-story mixed-use building in the Meatpacking District of Manhattan. Designed by Mancini Duffy Architecture, the proposal outlines a number of aesthetic and structural modifications to the vernacular/Neo-Grec style building, which was originally constructed in 1849 and subsequently enlarged between 1854-1860.
