Work is finished on a $6.3 million revitalization project at Whelan Park in the Village of Malverne, Nassau County. Spearheaded by New York State Homes and Community Renewal’s Office of Resilient Homes and Communities, the project introduces new recreational amenities and critical stormwater infrastructure improvements to the space, increasing resiliency along the Mill River watershed.
Construction is now underway at South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, Long Island, where a six-story medical pavilion will soon take shape. Led by Northwell Health and designed by EwingCole, the 190,000-square-foot building will add 90 private patient rooms, ten operating rooms, and three procedure rooms to the sprawling hospital campus.

A pair of private investors has revealed plans to redevelop a historic homestead into an assisted living and memory care facility in Nassau County, Long Island. Led by Charles Ferraro and Nicholas Racanelli, the three-story building in Bay Shore will debut as Netherbay at Bay Shore and contain 72 individual apartments and advanced medical care and rehabilitation facilities.
Las Vegas Sands has revealed proposals to redevelop roughly 80 acres of vacant land surrounding the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum into a new casino and entertainment complex in Uniondale, Long Island. The campus would also have a hotel, outdoor spaces for private events and community gatherings, celebrity chef restaurants, flexible meeting and convention space, a day spa, and a live performance venue that the developer said will honor the long legacy of live music at Nassau Coliseum.
