76 Eighth Avenue’s Black Steel Façade Completes Installation in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Exterior work is nearing completion on 76 Eighth Avenue, a ten-story commercial structure in Greenwich Village. Designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and developed by Sang Lee, Noviprop, and Plus Development, the 120-foot-tall structure will yield 30,000 square feet of office space and ground-floor retail. RAAD Studios designed the lobby space and Plus Design Studios designed the office interiors for the property, which is located at the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 14th Street, on the border of the Meatpacking DistrictChelsea, and West Village neighborhoods.

Construction is progressing on The Collection, an eight-story residential building at 401 West Street in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by Thomas Juul Hansen and Hill West Architects and developed by Wainbridge Capital, the ten-unit project is being built by Vector Building Corporation on a relatively narrow plot between West 10th and Charles Streets along the Hudson River waterfront. Christopher Street Pier lies directly to the west.

145 Perry Street Mega Mansion’s Brick Façade Revealed in West Village, Manhattan

Exterior work continues to shape up on 145 Perry Street, a four-story, 30,000-square-foot mega mansion in the West Village. Alternately addressed as 703-711 Washington Street, the project is designed by Leroy Street Studio with Robert Silman Associates Structural Engineers. Sciame Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Perry and Washington Streets. The site used to house a two-story parking garage that was demolished to make room for the new structure after gaining approval from the Landmarks Preservation Commission.

Gansevoort Peninsula Park Steadily Takes Shape Along West Village Waterfront

Construction is progressing on Gansevoort Peninsula Park, a new 5.5-acre public recreational space near the West Village on the Hudson River. Designed by James Corner Field Operations, who was commissioned by the Hudson River Park Trust in January 2019, the park is located next to Pier 53 and directly across from the Whitney Museum of American Art, and will most notably contain Manhattan’s first public beach.

Permits have been filed for an 11-story mixed-use building at 134 Jane Street in the West Village of Manhattan. Located at the intersection of West Street and Jane Street, the corner lot is within walking distance of the 14th Street subway station at 8th Avenue, serviced by the A, B, C, and L trains. Matthew Abreu of Aurora Capital Associates is listed as the owner behind the applications. Aurora Capital is also one of the developers for the neighboring 70-74 Gansevoort Street, a six-story mixed-use office building.
