Construction has broken ground at 33 Westchester Place, a 27-story rental tower in downtown New Rochelle. When complete, the building will add another 315 apartments to Westchester Place, a three-tower complex developed by Allstate Ventures.
Developers and local officials recently gathered to celebrate the beginning of construction at 70 Pier Street, a new multifamily rental property in Yonkers, New York. Led by Ginsburg Development Companies, the four-story building is located in the city’s Ludlow neighborhood and will eventually contain 36 rental apartments, ground-floor retail space, and parking garage for up to 35 vehicles.
Toll Brothers has agreed to modify its plans to construct a 161-acre planned community in Mount Pleasant, New York, following pushback from the town board. The proposals currently under review include the construction of 162 townhomes that must now be restricted to households with at least one occupant 55 years old and above.
AMS Acquisitions has revealed renderings for a two-tower rental development at 41 Buena Vista Avenue in Yonkers, New York. Plans are now in front of the Yonkers Planning Board and specify the creation of 873 apartments, 4,000 square feet of retail space, and 889 parking spaces.
Wilder Balter, LXMD, and The City of New Rochelle have completed a $4 million revival of Anderson Plaza, an open-air space for pedestrians in downtown New Rochelle. Located along Anderson Street between North Avenue and LeCount Place, the plaza will support a diverse mix of seasonal programming, from farmers markets and pop-up events to festivals and live performances.
