Foundation work is underway on the 24-story, 62-unit mixed-use building under development at 1050 Sixth Avenue, located between West 39th and 40th streets in Midtown near Bryant Park. The progress can be seen thanks to a photo posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits indicate the project will measure 62,886 square feet and stand 299 feet to the top of its bulkhead.
Stock N’ Lock, doing business as SNL Storage, has filed applications for a two-story, 49,560-square-foot self-storage facility at 1430 Bruckner Boulevard, located between Bronx River and Close avenues in the East Bronx’s Soundview section. The new building will stand 29 feet in height and host 25,625 square feet of commercial space. Self-storage units will be located on the cellar, ground, and second floors. There will also be two loading berths and two off-street parking spaces. Virginia-based Butz Wilbern LTD is the applicant of record. The 25,639-square-foot lot is occupied by a few small warehouses. Demolition permits were filed in September.
Construction is now occurring above ground level on the 63-story, 483-unit mixed-use tower under development at 118 Fulton Street, located on the corner of Dutch Street in the Financial District. The progress can be seen thanks to a photo posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits indicate the tower, dubbed 19 Dutch, will encompass 595,140 square feet and rise 758 feet above street level. That’s a significant height increase from the summer, when a 49-story tower was planned.
A year and a half ago, YIMBY spotted permits for a sizable mixed-use development that would replace a grocery store at 42-76 Main Street, on the southern edge of Flushing. One of the items on the Landmarks Preservation Commission’s backlog of items on the calendar since before 2010 came back before it on Tuesday. The LPC once again took up the designation of the Bowne Street Community Church in Flushing. The session was not a vote on the item, but another public hearing.
