YIMBY recently went on a hard-hat tour of 5 River Park, aka 347 Henry Street. The reinforced concrete structure stands 15 stories to its roof, atop the Brooklyn neighborhood of Cobble Hill. The building is being designed by Romines Architecture with Fortis Property Group serving as the developer. There will be 25 condominiums ranging from one- to four-bedroom units. D S L V Studio, a Brooklyn-based design and decor company, is in charge of the interior decor and styling while exclusive sales and marketing is being handled by the Eklund Gomes and Maroni teams from Douglas Elliman. Permits have been filed for a nine-story commercial building at 220 11th Avenue in Hudson Yards, Manhattan. Located between 25th Street and 26th Street, the lot is about five blocks south of the 34th Street-Hudson Yards subway station, serviced by the 7 train. Developer Moinian Group is listed as the owner behind the applications. The revised permit filing calls for office space, a possible indicator of severe over-saturation of condominiums in the neighborhood. In 2016, the filing was for an 11-story, 158,000-square-foot mixed-use building with 40 condos, a museum, and a restaurant.

Gene Kaufman-Designed Hotel Tops Out at 305 West 48th Street, in Hell’s Kitchen

The firm Gene Kaufman Architect is responsible for the design of 305 West 48th Street, a new 211-room hotel in Midtown’s Hell’s Kitchen. Located between Eighth and Ninth Avenue, the 27-story skyscraper rises along the fringe of tall skyscrapers between Times Square and the Hudson River, topping out at 303 feet. Glass is being installed on the southern elevation and the reinforced concrete walls will soon be covered in vibrant hues of red and yellow bricks. YIMBY last reported that Bright Management, Inc. is listed as the developer. The Rockwell Group is designing the interiors and amenities.
