255 West 34th Street Vertically Progresses Over Midtown, Manhattan

Several more floors have been added to the reinforced concrete superstructure of 255 West 34th Street, a rising 33-story hotel in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Stonehill Taylor Architects and developed by The Chetrit Group, the 397-foot-tall, 155,594-square-foot development will yield 330 guest rooms. Flintlock Construction Services, LLC is the general contractor for the building, which is located on the southern edge of the Garment District between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, right across from One Penn PlazaMadison Square Garden, and a short walk to the nearby James A. Farley Building and Moynihan Train Hall.

Construction on 550 Madison Avenue’s Garden Space Moves Along in Midtown East, Manhattan

Construction is complete on the steel and glass garden canopy at 550 Madison Avenue, a 684-foot-tall landmarked skyscraper in Midtown East. The triple-height framework is designed by Snøhetta with AECOM Tishman as the general contractor, and is part of a 21,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor renovation of the 38-year-old postmodern office building by The Olayan Group and RXR Realty, along with a revamped lobby designed by Gensler that was completed late last year. The developers are aiming to achieve LEED Platinum and WELL Gold certifications for the building, which is located between East 55th and 56th Streets.
