Jersey City Planning Board Approves 56-Story Skyscraper at 72 Montgomery Street in Jersey City, New Jersey

The Jersey City Planning Board rental approved plans for 72 Montgomery Street, an upcoming 56-story residential skyscraper in downtown Jersey City, New Jersey. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by KRE Group, the 648-foot-tall structure will yield 600 rental apartments in studio to three-bedroom layouts, 2,788 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and 181 enclosed parking spaces on the lower levels. The nearly 2-acre site is bound by Christopher Columbus Drive to the north, Montgomery Street to the south, Greene Street to the east, and the Battery View Senior Citizen Housing complex to the immediate west.

Construction is rising on Nevins Landing, a two-tower residential development at 310-340 Nevins Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by Charney Companies and Tavros Capital, the project consists of the 22-story Nevins Landing North at 310 Nevins Street and the 17-story Nevins Landing South at 340 Nevins Street. The two buildings will span a combined 600,000 square feet and yield 654 rental units, with 25 percent reserved for affordable housing. The 2.3-acre project site is alternately addressed as 417 Carroll Street and located on a large rectangular parcel along the Gowanus Canal between Union and Carroll Streets.

Construction Begins For Ogden Theatre Apartments At 1415 Ogden Avenue In Highbridge, The Bronx

Construction has broken ground on the Ogden Theatre Apartments, a new affordable housing development at 1415 Ogden Avenue in Highbridge, The Bronx. Designed by Aufgang Architects, the $66 million project will transform the site of a former movie theater, bowling alley, and church into a residential complex yielding 85 units. Development is being spearheaded by a coalition led by Unique People Services and NCV Capital Partners, in collaboration with several governmental bodies, including HUD, NYC’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), and the Department of Mental Health and Hygiene (DOHMH).
