Exterior Work on UAE Consulate Nears Completion at 315 East 46th Street in Turtle Bay

Façade work is getting close to completion on the United Arab Emirates consulate at 315 East 46th Street in the Midtown East neighborhood of Turtle Bay. The 145-foot-tall, nine-story reinforced concrete structure is designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill, developed by Fisher Brothers, and is being built by Plaza Construction. The topped-out edifice is located just up the street from the future consulate of the Republic of Turkey.

Turkevi Center Nears Completion at 821 First Avenue in Turtle Bay

Exterior work is nearing completion on the Turkevi Center, a 563-foot-tall mixed-use skyscraper at 821 First Avenue in the Midtown East neighborhood of Turtle Bay. Only a few minor touches remain to be completed on the podium of the 35-story tower, which is designed by Perkins Eastman and will serve as the consulate for the Republic of Turkey.

Demo Permits Filed for 70 Mulberry Street in Chinatown, Manhattan

Demolition permits have been filed for a five-story, 41,358-square-foot structure at 70 Mulberry Street in Manhattan’s Chinatown. According to the filing, the site is owned by the City’s Department of Citywide Administrative Services. 70 Mulberry Street made headlines in January when the historic building was destroyed in a five-alarm fire.

New York Korea Center of NYC Begins to Rise at 122-126 East 32nd Street in Murray Hill

The New York korea Center has finally begun to rise at 122-126 East 32nd Street in Murray Hill. The Midtown site, which is located between Lexington Avenue and Park Avenue South, had sat dormant since excavation was completed following the official groundbreaking ceremony in June 2018. The project is designed by Samoo Architects and Engineers (SAMOO) and developed by Level Group. The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea, NY, purchased the property for $15.8 million in March 2008, including the use of nearly 4,500 square feet of air rights.

LPC Approves Plans To Update New York City Hall’s Aging Entryway In Lower Manhattan

The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) has approved plans submitted by CTA Architects to partially replace the existing stairway in front of New York City Hall. Located within a wedge-shaped plaza between Broadway, Park Row, and Chambers Street, the historic structure was originally completed around 1812 and serves as the seat of the New York City government.

Rafael Vinoly Architects Designs Major Court House Complex at 595 Newark Avenue in Jersey City

The Hudson County Improvement Authority has revealed new renderings of a sprawling courthouse complex designed by award-winning architect Rafael Viñoly. Set to debut in Jersey City by 2023, the Frank J. Guarini Justice Complex will replace the existing Hudson County Administration Building at 595 Newark Avenue with a mix of judicial spaces and public grounds.
