Curtain Wall Installation Begins on JPMorgan Headquarters at 270 Park Avenue in Midtown East, Manhattan

The first curtain wall panels have begun installation on JPMorgan Chase‘s rising 1,388-foot supertall headquarters at 270 Park Avenue in Midtown East. Designed by Lord Norman Foster of Foster + Partners and developed by Tishman Speyer, the 70-story skyscraper will yield 2.5 million square feet of office space for 15,000 employees, and will become the tallest structure in New York powered entirely by hydroelectric energy. Adamsom Associates is the architect of record, Banker Steel provided the steelwork, NYC Constructors is the steel subcontractor, Mueser Rutledge Consulting Engineers (MRCE) designed the structural foundation elements, Severud Associates is the engineer of record, R&R Scaffolding Ltd. will provide the BMU, and AEOCOM Tishman is the general contractor for the property, which occupies a full block bound by East 48th Street to the north, East 47th Street to the south, Park Avenue to the east, and Madison Avenue to the west.

90 Sands Street Affordable Housing Tower Opens in DUMBO, Brooklyn

Work is complete on 90 Sands Street, a 30-story residential tower in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and developed by Breaking Ground, the project involved the redevelopment of the former Jehovah’s Witness Hotel and yields 491 units with a portion devoted to deeply affordable housing and supportive housing for the formerly homeless, as well as a 28,000-square-foot community facility and commercial space spanning the first and second floors and a public plaza at the corner of Sands and Jay Streets.

Designed by Norman Foster of Foster + Partners and developed by Tishman Speyer, the 1,388-foot-tall skyscraper will yield 2.5 million square feet of office space and set the record for the tallest building in New York to be powered by hydroelectric energy. Banker Steel is in charge of steel fabrication and NYC Constructors is the general contractor for the property, which spans a full block bound by East 48th Street to the north, East 47th Street to the south, Park Avenue to the east, and Madison Avenue to the west.It is expected to have a capacity to hold 15,000 employees.

Designed by Norman Foster of Foster + Partners and developed by Tishman Speyer, the 1,388-foot-tall skyscraper will yield 2.5 million square feet of office space and will set a record as the tallest New York building to be powered by hydroelectric energy. The steel is being fabricated by Banker Steel and assembled on site by NYC Constructors LLC over a giant full-block parcel bound by Park Avenue to the east, Madison Avenue to the west, East 47th Street to the south, and East 48th Street to the north.
