Property owner Robert Bichoupan, doing business as an anonymous Great Neck, N.Y.-based LLC, has filed applications for a four-story, eight-unit residential building at 1009 Hancock Street, in eastern Bushwick. It will measure 8,454 square feet and its residential units should average 822 square feet apiece, indicative of rental apartments. There will be two apartments per floor, followed by a roof terrace up on top. Whitestone-based Platonic Solids Architecture is the architect of record. The 30-foot-wide, 3,000-square-foot property is currently occupied by a two-and-a-half-story townhouse. Demolition permits were filed last month. The Halsey Street stop on the J train is located at the end of the block.

Four-Story, Eight-Unit Residential Building Filed at 710 Hart Street, Bushwick

Brooklyn-based Champion Homes Development Corp. has filed applications for a four-story, eight-unit residential building at 710 Hart Street, in western Bushwick. The project will measure 7,570 square feet and its residential units should average 684 square feet apiece, indicative of rental apartments. Each floor will host two apartments. Gerald J. Caliendo’s Briarwood-based architectural firm is the architect of record. The 25-foot-wide, 2,496-square-foot property is currently occupied by a two-story townhouse. Demolition permits haven’t been filed. The Central Avenue stop on the M train is located a block away.


45 Troutman Street

Four-Story, Eight-Unit Residential Building Planned at 45 Troutman Street, Bushwick

Williamsburg-based Jen Urban View Development has filed applications for a four-story, eight-unit residential building at 45 Troutman Street, in western Bushwick. It will measure 5,500 square feet and its residential units should average 687.5 square feet apiece, indicative of rental apartments. There will be two units per floor, although the top two apartments on the fourth floor will also feature space in an upper penthouse level. Woody Chen’s Elmhurst-based Infocus Design & Planning is the architect of record. The 25-foot-wide, 2,500-square-foot property is currently occupied by a two-story townhouse. Demolition permits haven’t been filed. The Myrtle Avenue stop on the J, M, and Z trains is two blocks away.


1485 Gates Avenue

Construction Complete on Five-Story, 10-Unit Residential Building at 1485 Gates Avenue, Bushwick

Construction has been completed on the five-story, 10-unit residential building under development at 1485 Gates Avenue, in central Bushwick. The latest building permits indicate it measures 11,017 square feet. Its residential units should average 873 square feet apiece, which mean they could be either condominiums or rental apartments. Amenities include laundry facilities and a rooftop recreational space. Yoel Berkovits is the developer. Beam Group is the design architect, while Joseph A. Mucciolo’s Long Island-based architectural firm is serving as the executive architect. Occupancy is expected soon. YIMBY first reported on the project when new building applications were filed in July of 2014. The Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues stop on the L and M trains is two blocks away.
