7 Platt Street’s Foundations Reach Street Level in Manhattan’s Financial District

At number 23 on our annual countdown of the tallest projects underway in New York is 7 Platt Street, a 464-foot-tall mixed-use building in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan. Designed by Hill West Architects with interiors by Fogarty Finger and developed by The Moinian Group, the 37-story structure will span 267,760 square feet and yield 250 rental apartments with an average scope of 680 square feet, as well as 43,740 square feet of retail space on the first five stories and 34 below-grade parking spaces. Titanium Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 110 John Street and located on an interior lot bound by John Street to the north and Platt Street to the south.

Payoneer to Relocate Headquarters to 195 Broadway in Financial District, Manhattan

Financial technology firm Payoneer has finalized a ten-year lease agreement to move its headquarters to 195 Broadway in Manhattan’s Financial District. The company will occupy a 42,000-square-foot space spanning the entire 27th floor of the historic 29-story Neoclassical building starting in spring of 2024. This relocation marks one of the more significant office relocations from Midtown to Lower Manhattan this year.

Seaport Residences Remains Indefinitely Stalled at 161 Maiden Lane in Financial District, Manhattan

Leading off our Turkey Week rundown of prominent stalled projects in New York City is Seaport Residences, a 60-story residential skyscraper at 161 Maiden Lane along the border of Lower Manhattan’s Financial District and the South Street Seaport District. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Fortis Property Group, the slender 670-foot-tall tower, originally dubbed One Seaport, was planned to span 200,000 square feet and yield 80 condominium units with interiors by Groves & Co. Ray Builders was the last general contractor to work on the beleaguered project, which stands on a narrow site bound by South Street and Maiden Lane, directly across from the FDR Drive and the East River.

The Greenwich Continues to Wrap Up Construction at 125 Greenwich Street in Financial District, Manhattan

Construction is continuing on The Greenwich, an 88-story residential skyscraper at 125 Greenwich Street in Manhattan’s Financial District. Designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects and developed by Fortress Investment Group, Bilgili, and Bizzi & Partners, the 912-foot-tall structure will yield 273 condominium units designed by March & White (MAWD) and marketed by Douglas Elliman Marketing Development, which is aiming to launch sales later this fall. Homes will range from studios to three-bedroom layouts with pricing starting at $1.15 million. Time Square Construction and Plaza Construction are the general contractors for the property, which is located at the corner of Greenwich and Thames Streets, just south of the World Trade Center complex and Liberty Park.
