The affordable housing lottery has launched for Bedford Beverly Phase 1, a pair of seven-story residential buildings at 2363 Bedford Avenue and 158 Lott Avenue in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Designed by S. Wieder Architects and developed by Clipper Equity, the structures yield 227 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 69 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $98,195 to $227,500.

LPC Designates Two New Historic Districts In Flatbush, Brooklyn

The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) has officially designated two new historic districts in Flatbush, Brooklyn: Beverley Square West Historic District and Ditmas Park West Historic District. Both districts feature well preserved residential architecture from the turn of the 20th century, reflecting the neighborhood’s transition from rural farmland to a suburban enclave. The new designations recognize more than 240 homes that remain largely intact and represent a significant chapter in Brooklyn’s urban development.

Announced on Wednesday by Mayor Eric Adams and NYC Public Schools Chancellor Melissa Avilés-Ramos, the new center will serve students from 3-K through second grade in both general and special education, including children with autism and other developmental disabilities. Its opening marks the launch of Central Brooklyn’s first AIMS (Acquisition, Integrated Services, Meaningful Communication, and Social Skills) program, and is the first special education annex in School District 17.
