Newark Central Planning Board recently approved proposals to construct a massive three-tower residential development which will debut as ‘The Halo.’ Located at 289-301 Washington Street, the 44, 48, and 52-story towers quickly step up to a final height of 565 feet and will be the tallest standing structures in Newark, New Jersey.
Queen’s tallest building could potentially be joining the crop of skyscrapers around Court Square in Long Island City. With a structural height of 811 feet, the tower proposed for 27-48 Jackson Avenue has filed for obstruction evaluation from the Federal Aviation Administration given its proximity to LaGuardia Airport and the surrounding navigable airspace. The proposal was filed on February 25th, no construction permits have yet been filed with the NYC Department of Buildings.
Façade work is shaping up on 1245 Broadway, a 23-story office building in NoMad. Designed by Skidmore Owings and Merrill and developed by GDSNY and Sweden-based Klovern, the 318-foot-tall building will yield 200,000 square feet of commercial space with with leasing managed by CBRE. StructureTech NY and Triton Construction are in charge of constructing the project, which stands at the corner of West 31st Street and Broadway.
Permits have been filed for two five-story residential buildings at 37-39 Meserole Street in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Located between South 4th Street and Lorimer Street, the adjacent lots are three blocks north of the Broadway subway station, serviced by the G train and a short walk to the Hewes Street station, serviced by the M and J trains. Jiali Zeng under the Sunny Tsang LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Work is continuing on Madison House, an 805-foot-tall residential skyscraper at 126 Madison Avenue and the tallest structure in NoMad. Alternately addressed as 15 East 30th Street, the 62-story reinforced concrete edifice is designed by Handel Architects and developed by both Fosun Group and JD Carlisle. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing is handling sales and marketing of the 199 condominiums, which will sit atop an additional 7,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
