Across the street from the lot is the Al-Noor School, a private K-12 school of Islamic affiliations, serving 650 enrolled students. Permits have been filed for a 19-story hotel to be built at 157 West 24th Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenue, in Chelsea. The site is less than a block from a Whole Foods grocery store and has easy access to subway stations along 23rd Street, including the F and M trains on Sixth Avenue, the 1 and 2 trains on Seventh Avenue, and on Eighth Avenue, the C and E trains. Jin Sup An’s 157 West 24th Street Lodging LLC will be responsible for development.

Affordable Housing Project Excelsior II Nears Completion in Highbridge, The Bronx

Construction is wrapping on a nine-story affordable housing project, named Excelsior II, at 120 West 169th Street, in The Bronx’s Highbridge. YIMBY covered the rendering reveal for this site in 2014, and the project is expected to be complete before the end of this month. Highbridge Community Development Corporation is responsible for the development, and the Briarwood Organization is handling general contracting.
