Kaufman Organization Debuts 100-Foot Mural of Fashion Icon Evelyn Nesbit at 236 Fifth Avenue

The Kaufman Organization has partnered with renowned street artist Tristan Eaton to complete a 100-foot-tall mural in the heart of NoMad, Manhattan. The artwork is positioned on the south-facing wall of 236 Fifth Avenue and depicts Evelyn Nesbit, a 20th century fashion icon, actress, and chorus girl who graced the magazine covers of Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan, and Harper’s Bazaar magazines, among others.

Art Deco-Inspired Rose Hill Begins Ascent at 30 East 29th Street in NoMad

Construction on 30 East 29th Street, aka Rose Hill, is moving along quickly in NoMad. Work on the foundations wrapped up in January and now the upcoming 639-foot-tall structure is several floors above street level. The upcoming 49-story project is located between Park Avenue South and Madison Avenue and is being designed by CetraRuddy Architecture and developed by the Rockefeller Group. The residential high-rise will incorporate an Art Deco-inspired design, setting it apart from other neighboring towers rising in the development boom, responsible for changing the skyline south of the Empire State Building.

126 Madison Avenue Approaches 756-Foot Pinnacle in NoMad

Construction at 15 East 30th Street, aka 126 Madison Avenue, is climbing higher above NoMad. Work has surpassed the roof of Sky House, one the earliest slender residential skyscrapers in New York City. The upcoming 756-foot-tall, 51-story structure is being designed by Handel Architects while Fosun Group and JD Carlisle are responsible for the development. The tower will contain 180 condominiums, which will average more than 1,600 square feet. The project will yield about 300,000 square feet, with 7,500 square feet of retail space divided among two storefronts facing East 30th Street and Madison Avenue.

The NoMad Ritz Carlton’s Foundation Reaches Street Level at 1185 Broadway

Progress has been quick and steady at 1185 Broadway, aka 29 West 28th Street, the future NoMad site of the Ritz Carlton Hotel. Excavation finished in the beginning of January. Since then, the foundations and basement floors have been built to street level and the construction crane is up and running. The $500 million Midtown skyscraper is about to rise at the corner of Broadway and West 28th Street. Designed by Rafael Vinoly, developed by MarriottRitz Carlton Hotels, and Flag Luxury Properties, and with interior design by Yabu Pushelberg. The upcoming hotel will rise 40 stories tall and reach 580 feet above Midtown and the surrounding neighborhood.
