After our first look at Morris Adjmi’s submission to the Landmark Preservation Commission for 419 Broadway back in October, the SoHo building has been approved following a redesign. The accepted proposal has seen a height reduction, as well as a change to the bulkhead.
Construction is moving swiftly at 570 Broome Street, and the 25-story high-rise has officially topped-out. YIMBY last reported on the site a month and a half ago when renderings of interiors and the lobby were revealed. The site is rising in Hudson Square, which is rapidly filling with new residential developments following a comprehensive rezoning passed earlier this decade.
Last week, YIMBY featured an update on 606 Broadway, on West Houston Street. A few blocks east, an even larger building is rising on a slightly less irregularly-shaped lot, at 300 Lafayette Street, for which we have the latest images courtesy of Tectonic.
Construction is moving along quickly on the triangular site at 606 Broadway, which is distinct for two reasons. The first is the unusual shape for a six-story commercial building. The second is that new non-residential buildings aren’t too common for Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood due to landmark restrictions and generally astronomical property values, and this building is going to be entirely commercial. Retail will populate the cellar, first floor, and second, while offices will occupy floors three through six.
Renderings revealed for the new 25-story high-rise in West SoHo. Tahir Demircioglu, founder of the architectural firm Builtd, designed the 287-feet tall structure. Renderings show the minimalist façade dressed with Neolith sintered stone slabs, and framing three-stories of dark windows from the bottom to the top.
