A consortium of developers has successfully locked in $173 million in financing to construct a new 479-unit rental property in Chelsea. The new building will take shape at 241 West 28th Street, near Eighth Avenue, and is designed by COOKFOX.
Curtain wall work is progressing at 39 West 23rd Street, a 24-story residential project in the Flatiron District. Designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by Anbau Enterprises, the development consists of two structures separated by an internal courtyard.
Construction has officially topped out at Betances Residences, a Passive House senior housing development at 443 East 142nd Street in the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx. The project is designed by COOKFOX and is the seventh building in the borough developed by supportive housing provider Breaking Ground.
Construction is now fully complete at One South First, aka Ten Grand Street, a 435-foot-tall mixed-use residential building in the Domino Park waterfront development in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Formally addressed as 260 Kent Avenue, the 45-story structure sits on the northern end of the six-acre master plan along the East River. Part of the revitalization of the Domino Sugar Factory site, the project is designed by COOKFOX and developed by Two Trees and yields a total of 330 rentals, 66 affordable units, 150,000 square feet of office space spanning 18 floors, and 13,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
Full demolition permits have been filed for a 25,000-square-foot, four-story structure at 752-760 Madison Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Locate at the corner of East 65th Street, the site is planned to yield a 12-story building that will house the new Giorgio Armani flagship boutique with residential units on the upper floors. SL Green Realty Corp. is listed as the owner behind the applications and partnered with Giorgio Armani Corp. for the future development.
