Construction has reached street level on 1841 Broadway, a 25-story, 281-foot-tall residential building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by INC Architecture & Design and developed by Global Holdings Management Group, the 180,813-square-foot edifice will yield 173 market-rate and affordable housing units as well as 11,741 square feet of retail space on the first two levels. Pavarini McGovern, LLC is the general contractor and DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the façade consultant for the project, which is located at the corner of Broadway and West 60th Street, just north of Columbus Circle and the southwestern corner of Central Park.

Excavation work is underway at 249 East 62nd Street, site of a residential tower on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Developed by Zeckendorf Development with CM & Associates as the general contractor, the project has undergone some design modifications since our last update in early 2018, when renderings and plans for a Rafael Viñoly-designed 32-story, 510-foot-tall skyscraper were revealed. There is now a revised building diagram that depicts a roughly 27- to 28-story edifice with a tall ground floor, a tiered and multi-faceted crown, and an L-shaped footprint with frontage on both East 62nd Street and Second Avenue. Zeckendorf had hired INC Architecture & Design in late 2020 to redraw plans for a scaled down residence roughly 330 feet tall with 30 floors.
Construction is nearing completion on 7 Dey Street, a 34-story mixed-use tower in the Financial District. Formerly known as 185 Broadway, the 404-foot-tall structure is designed by FXCollaborative and developed by SL Green Realty and will yield 260,000 square feet and 209 rental units ranging from studios to three-bedroom layouts. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing is handling marketing and sales, and INC Architecture & Design is in charge of the interiors, which will come with three floors of amenities. Pavarini McGovern is the general contractor for the project, located at the corner of Broadway and Dey Street. The development was made possible thanks to un-utilized air rights SL Green purchased from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).
This week SL Green Realty Corp and Douglas Elliman launched leasing at 7 Dey Street, a 34-story mixed-use building in Manhattan’s Financial District. In addition to 209 rentals, the building will also contain a mix of commercial retail and office suites with frontage along both Dey Street and Broadway.
Work is shaping up on the white terracotta façade of 58 Saint Marks Place, a 12-story residential building in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Developed by Avdoo & Partners and designed by INC Architecture & Design with Isaac & Stern as the architect of record, the long rectangular structure will yield 100 units and is bound by 4th Avenue to the east, St. Mark’s Place to the north, and Willie McDonald Way to the south.
