Last week, development partners Hudson Companies, Gilbane Development Company, and MHANY Management Inc. celebrated the groundbreaking of Phase Two of The Peninsula in Hunts Point, The Bronx at the site of the former Spofford Juvenile Detention Center. On October 19, Bronx Point celebrated its opening in a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by L&M Development Partners, Type A Projects, BronxWorks, and The Hip Hop Museum, alongside elected officials and community leaders. The affordable housing lottery has launched for 35 Commercial Street, a newly constructed affordable housing property in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Located within the Greenpoint Landing mega-complex, the 22-story building will contain 374 permanently affordable apartments and 7,600 square feet of retail space on the lower levels. The project is developed by Park Tower Group along with Greenpoint Landing Associates, New York City’s Housing Preservation & Development (HPD), and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).
