New Affordable Co-Op Developments Break Ground in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn

Construction has broken ground on Phase II of the Bed-Stuy Fantastic Four development, which will deliver 45 affordable cooperative homes for ownership across four city-owned sites across Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Gerald Caliendo and Anthony Leva for the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), the project will bring accessible housing to properties on Myrtle Avenue, Vernon Avenue, and Chauncey Street.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 303 Sumpter Street, a four-story residential building in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Bahram Tehrani of Best Engineering Technology Design and developed by Pitkin Group LLC, the structure yields eight residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are three units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $85,098 to $227,500.
