Exterior work is moving along on Dekalb Commons, a pair of seven-story all-affordable residential buildings at 639 and 652 DeKalb Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Magnusson Architecture & Planning and developed by St. Nick’s Alliance in partnership with Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, the architecturally cohesive structures will collectively span 89,000 square feet and yield 85 rental units in studio- to three-bedroom layouts. The properties are located across DeKalb Avenue from each other, on interior lots between Nostrand and Marcy Avenues.

211 Nostrand Avenue’s Façade Nears Completion in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn

Exterior work is nearing completion on 211 Nostrand Avenue, an eight-story mixed-use building in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Peter Foster and developed by Issac Lebo of Nostrand Development, the 65-foot-tall structure was planned to span 26,933 square feet and yield 20 units with an average scope of 958 square feet, according to permits filed in January 2024. The development was also slated to include 7,758 square feet of commercial space, a cellar level, a 35-foot-long rear yard, and 12 enclosed parking spaces. However, it appears that the scope has been increased since the filing, though updated figures have not been disclosed. The property is located between Pulaski Street and DeKalb Avenue.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 77 Kosciuszko Street, a 13-story mixed-use building in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by S. Wieder Architect and developed by Joel Landau of NNRC Properties LLC, the structure yields 110 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 110 units for residents at 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $75,840 to $140,000.

Foundations are underway at 22 Skillman Street, the site of an eight-story residential building in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Daniel Condatore of Mode Architects and developed by Zelig Weiss of Riverside Developers USA, the 70-foot-tall structure will span 115,580 square feet and yield 83 condominium units with an average scope of 1,392 square feet. The development will also include a cellar level and 42 enclosed parking spaces. The through-lot property is located between Skillman Street to the east and Franklin Avenue to the west.
