Demolition is progressing at 45-40 Vernon Boulevard, the site of a forthcoming 23-story mixed-use building in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Archimaera and developed and built by ZD Jasper, the 262-foot-tall structure will span 192,500 square feet and yield 226 units along with lower-level commercial space. The property is located near the intersection of Vernon Boulevard and 46th Avenue.
Permits have been filed for the full demolition of three two-story commercial buildings at 10-03 40th Avenue, 10-05 40th Avenue, and 10-07 40th Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. Lettire Construction, based at 36-52 37th Street in Long Island City, is listed as the owner behind the applications. Santiago Helman, PE is listed as the applicant on the permits.
This week Malt Drive Park opened to the public, extending East River waterfront access in Long Island City, Queens. Developed by TF Cornerstone and designed by SCAPE Landscape Architecture, the park along Newtown Creek is named for the former beer distribution center that once occupied the site.
A new lease was recently signed with Somedays Bakery at the ground floor of 4630 Center Boulevard, a residential building in Long Island City, Queens. The bakery will occupy an 800-square-foot ground-floor space for a 15-year term in the property. This will be Somedays Bakery’s second location in Long Island City, and is set to open its doors in April.
