Demolition Wraps Up At 540 Third Avenue in Murray Hill, Manhattan

Demolition is finishing up at 540 Third Avenue, the site of a 22-story residential building in Murray Hill, Manhattan. Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by Robert Gilardian of Gilar Realty, the 235-foot-tall structure will span roughly 109,000 square feet and yield 160 rental units with an average scope of 625 square feet, as well as 3,747 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a cellar level. Third Avenue Pavilions Residences is listed as the owner and Celtic Services NYC Inc. is the demolition contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 162 East 36th Street and located at the corner of Third Avenue and East 36th Street.

‘Field of Light’ Fiber Optic Art Installation to Debut at Freedom Plaza in Murray Hill, Manhattan

The Soloviev Foundation will soon debut “Field of Light,” a six-acre immersive installation along the waterfront edge of Murray Hill, Manhattan. Designed by acclaimed artist Bruce Munro, the installation will take shape at Freedom Plaza, an undeveloped parcel of land along the East River from 38th to 41st Streets.

New York Korea Center Awaits Finishing Touches at 122-126 East 32nd Street in Murray Hill, Manhattan

Work is wrapping up on The New York Korea Center, the new seven-story home of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea at 122-126 East 32nd Street in Murray Hill. Designed by Samoo Architects and Engineers (SAMOO) and developed by Level Group, the 120-foot-tall structure will yield 36,500 square feet and is engineered to achieve LEED Certification. KSK Construction Group is the general contractor for the property, which is located on an interior lot between Park Avenue South and Lexington Avenue.

Excavation and Demolition Underway at 729-739 Second Avenue in Murray Hill, Manhattan

Excavation is underway at 729 Second Avenue, the site of a 20-story residential building in Murray Hill, Manhattan. Designed by CetraRuddy and developed by Brause Realty, the 237-foot-tall structure will yield 120,000 square feet with 157 units and 4,600 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Titan Industrial SVC Corp and Alba Services Inc. are the demolition contractors for the property, which is located between East 38th and East 39th Streets.

Murray Nears Completion at 509 Third Avenue in Murray Hill, Manhattan

Construction is finishing up on Murray, a 35-story residential tower at 509 Third Avenue in Murray Hill, Manhattan. Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by Kahen Properties with Lalezarian Properties under the Third and Thirty Four LLC, the 386-foot-tall structure will span 166,917 square feet and yield 229 rental units with an average scope of 692 square feet, as well as 8,253 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and a private 30-foot-long yard. Charlton Development Group is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of Third Avenue and East 34th Street.

Permits Filed for 36-25 172nd Street, Murray Hill, Queens

Permits have been filed for a three-story mixed-use building at 36-25 172nd Street in Murray Hill, Queens. The site is five blocks away from the Auburndale train station, serviced by LIRR. Xuemei Yi is listed as behind the applications.

Renderings Revealed for The New York Korea Center of NYC at 122-126 East 32nd Street, Murray Hill

Progress is finally advancing on the New York Korea Center, at 122-126 East 32nd Street. Located in the Midtown neighborhood of Murray Hill, on East 32nd Street between Lexington and Park, construction began on June 28th with a panel of dignitaries who attended the groundbreaking event. The building will be designed by SAMOO Architecture PC, and is being developed by Young Park, of Level Group. The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in New York purchased the site for $15.8 million back in March 2008, which included nearly 4,500 square feet of air rights from the neighboring four-story building.
