Yonkers IDA Votes for $72 Million Development Project in Ravine Neighborhood

A block in the Warburton Ravine Urban Renewal Area of Yonkers will soon see a significant overhaul thanks to the Yonkers Industrial Development Agency (IDA). On September 4, the IDA gave preliminary approval of financial incentives for a $72 million development known as Point & Ravine Apartments, developed through a public partnership between the City of Yonkers and developer Conifer Realty LLC. Construction costs are estimated at $43.4 million and land acquisition at $8.24 million.

Exterior work on Robert A. M. Stern Architects‘ limestone-clad 220 Central Park South is imminently close to completion. The 950-foot-tall residential skyscraper is located between Seventh Avenue and Columbus Circle and yields 593,000 square feet of some of the most expensive living space in New York. Vornado Realty Trust is the developer of the $1.4-billion, 67-story project and is expecting a $3.4 billion sellout. SLCE Architects is the executive architect, while Thierry W. Despont is the interior designer of the 118 condominiums.

The Willoughby Tops Out at 196 Willoughby Street in Downtown Brooklyn

Last month, RXR Realty celebrated the topping off of The Willoughby, a 34-story mixed-use tower at 196 Willoughby Street on the Long Island University Brooklyn campus. Located in Downtown Brooklyn, the new ground-up structure contains residential units, academic and office space, a state-of-the-art athletic field, and parking for 564 vehicles. Perkins Eastman is responsible for the design of the 435-foot-tall building.
