Gotham Point’s 57-Story ‘Parcel F’ Tops Out in Hunters Point South, Queens

Construction has topped out on Parcel F, a 57-story 559-foot tall skyscraper in the Gotham Point development in Hunters Point South, Queens. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Gotham Organization, RiseBoro Community Partnership, Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group, and the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), the reinforced concrete structure will yield 689 units alongside a 1,100-seat Intermediate High School built by the School Construction Authority, and Parcel G, its 33-story, 336-foot tall, 443-unit sibling. Gotham Point is located at the confluence of the East River and Newtown Creek, bound by Center Boulevard to the north, 56th Avenue to the east, and 57th Avenue to the west. Handel Architects is also the interior designer while BHDM did the interior for the model apartment only.

New Renderings Revealed for Gotham Point Two-Tower Project in Hunters Point South, Queens

The Gotham Organization and RiseBoro Community Partnership have revealed a collection of new renderings for Gotham Point, a dual-tower residential project located within the Hunters Point South mega-development. The property is positioned on Parcel F and Parcel G of Hunter’s Point South, which is among the largest mixed-use residential developments in Long Island City, Queens.

Located between 41st Avenue and Queens Plaza, the lot is steps from the Queensboro Plaza subway station, serviced by the 7, N, and W trains. Grubb Properties is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Excavation Underway at 27-19 Thomson Avenue in Long Island City, Queens

Excavation has begun at 27-19 Thomson Avenue, the site of a ten-story, 30-unit building in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Thomson Development LLC with Warner Construction Services Inc. handling construction, the 28,051-square-foot property will yield 23,012 square feet of residential space and 5,039 square feet of lower-level retail. The 116-foot-tall structure will rise from a 3,600-square-foot plot bound by Thomson Avenue to the south and 44th Drive to the northeast that was purchased for $6.85 million in 2018. Demolition of the site’s former low-rise occupant concluded in early 2019.

The Nova Rises Toward Halfway Mark at 41-05 29th Street in Long Island City, Queens

Construction is rising rapidly on The Nova, a 24-story residential project at 41-05 29th Street in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by SB Development Group, the 290-foot-tall structure will yield 86 homes and ground-floor retail space on a triangular plot at the confluence of 29th Street and 41st Avenue. The developers recently secured a construction loan from SCALE Lending worth $55 million to complete the project.

Sven Wraps Up Construction at 29-37 41st Avenue in Long Island City, Queens

It looks like construction is coming to a close on Sven, a 762-foot-tall skyscraper at 29-37 41st Avenue and the second-tallest building in Long Island City, Queens. Also known as Queens Plaza Park, the 67-story tower is designed by Handel Architects for The Durst Organization and will yield 958 rental units with interiors designed by Selldorf Architects, including 300 units set aside as affordable housing. Hunter Roberts is the general contractor and Jaros, Baum & Bolles Engineering administered the mechanical systems for the project, which is bound by Northern Boulevard to the east, Queens Plaza North and Dutch Kills Green to the south, and 41st Avenue to the west.

Skyline Tower Completes Construction in Long Island City, Queens

Construction is now fully complete on Skyline Tower, the tallest skyscraper in Long Island City and all of Queens. Addressed as 23-15 44th Drive, the 68-story, 778-foot-tall edifice is designed by Hill West Architects and developed by United Construction & Development Group, FSA Capital, and Risland US Holdings LLC. Yielding 802 residences designed by Whitehall Interiors and marketed by Modern Spaces, residences range in price from $500,000 to $4 million. The site is located at the corner of 23rd Street to the west and 44th Drive to the south.

45-18 Court Square’s Restoration and Addition Approaches Completion in Long Island City, Queens

Façade work is progressing toward completion on the Innolabs life science facility at 45-18 Court Square in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Perkins + Will and developed by King Street Properties, Newmark Knight Frank, and GFP Real Estate, the project involves the restoration of a central building and construction of a six-story addition in multiple wings. The property is located just south of Jackson Avenue between Court Square West and Pearson Street, a short walk from the Court Square subway station, servicing the 7, E, and G trains.

23-20 Jackson Avenue’s Scaffolding Begins Disassembly in Long Island City, Queens

Exterior work is nearing completion on 23-20 Jackson Avenue, a nine-story mixed-use building in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by KSQ Architects and developed by The Vorea Group, the project will yield 85,851 square feet with retail space, offices, and a 72-room hotel operated by San Francisco-based hotelier Sonder Corp. The property is located at the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Pearson Street.
