43-20 24th Street Tops Out in Long Island City, Queens

Construction has topped out on 43-30 24th Street, a 66-story residential skyscraper in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed and built by Carmel Partners, the 731-foot-tall tower will yield 921 units spread across 838,000 square feet and 17,400 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The property is bound by 43rd Avenue to the north, 44th Road to the south, 24th Street to the east, and 23rd Street to the west.

49-18 Vernon Boulevard Begins Construction in Long Island City, Queens

Construction has begun at 49-18 Vernon Boulevard, the site of a five-story mixed-use building in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Gerald J. Caliendo R.A., A.I.A. Architect and developed by V&F 4918 LLC, the structure will yield an undisclosed number of residential units and ground-floor retail space. The property is located at the corner of Vernon Boulevard and 50th Avenue.

New Retail Tenants Announced for Jasper at 2-33 50th Avenue in Long Island City, Queens

Three new retail leases were recently signed at Jasper, a 13-story mixed-use building at 2-33 50th Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. The new tenants, whose leases total approximately 7,600 square feet, will bring commitments to more than 64 percent of the building’s 33,000 square feet of retail space. The project was designed by S9 Architecture and is on track to complete construction in the first quarter of 2025.

LaGuardia Community College Signs Lease Extension at 30-20 Thomson Avenue in Long Island City, Queens

The City University of New York’s LaGuardia Community College has signed a ten-year lease extension at Queens Atrium, an eight-story commercial building at 30-20 Thomson Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. The college has occupied the building for the last 15 years and currently leases 210,334 square feet across the lower floors of the structure.

10-04 Borden Avenue Nears Completion in Long Island City, Queens

Work is continuing on 10-04 Borden Avenue, a three-story commercial building in Long Island City, Queens. Developed and built by The Vorea Group under the Borden Ave Opportunity Zone Business LLC, the 56,000-square-foot structure will feature New York City’s first iFLY indoor skydiving facility and a separate commercial space. The plot spans nearly half an acre by the three-way intersection of Borden Avenue, Vernon Boulevard, and Jackson Avenue.

TF Cornerstone and Culture Lab LIC Reveal the Hunter’s Point South Sculpture Garden in Long Island City, Queens

The Hunter’s Point South Complex in Long Island City, Queens is now home to an outdoor sculpture garden featuring works by three local artists. The sculptures were commissioned by TF Cornerstone and Culture Lab LIC and sit between 5203 and 5241 Center Boulevard.

Construction is in full swing at 43-14 Queens Street, the site of a 19-story residential building in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Rockrose Development, the 229-foot-tall mixed-use structure will yield 193,725 square feet with 301 rental apartments, residential amenities on the 18th floor, a cellar level, and approximately 4,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. 27-34 Jackson GC, LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Queens Street and Jackson Avenue.

Developer Secures $425M Loan for 69-Story Residential Skyscraper at 42-02 Orchard Street in Long Island City, Queens

BLDG Management Company has secured a $425 million loan to complete a 69-story residential skyscraper in Long Island City, Queens. The development, known as The Orchard, will take shape at 42-02 Orchard Street and debut as the tallest residential building in the neighborhood.
