Developers Complete $84M Affordable Housing Development for Seniors at 1074 Washington Avenue in Morrisania, Bronx

A new, mixed-use, affordable housing project for low-income seniors has debuted in the Morrisania section of The Bronx. Located at 1074 Washington Avenue, the Trinity-Reverend William James Senior Apartments is constructed on land formerly occupied by a vacant United Methodist church and today comprises a collection of 154 deeply affordable apartments, a 5,400-square-foot social services facility on the ground floor, and recreational amenity spaces for future occupants.

Doe Fund to Break Ground on Affordable Housing Project at 4519 White Plains Road in Wakefield, The Bronx

Construction is set to break ground this week at 4519 White Plains Road, a new affordable and supportive housing development in the Wakefield section of The Bronx. As the latest project from The Doe Fund and Robert Sanborn Development, the building will provide 98 affordable homes, 20 apartments reserved for tenants 62 and older, and on-site supportive services for 49 formerly homeless individuals.

The Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), Housing Development Corporation, and NYCHA have announced plans to construct Sol on the Park, a 195-unit affordable housing property in the Morrisania section of The Bronx. Located at the corner of St. Paul’s Place and Park Avenue, the project sits within the Morris II public housing development.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 3013 Eastchester Road, a five-story residential building in Baychester, The Bronx. Designed by KR Design Group and developed by Brian O’Donovan of Brivan Holdings LLC, the structure yields 20 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are six units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $57,772 to $139,620.

The New York City Department of Buildings is now reviewing permits to complete a new 16-unit multifamily rental property in the Kingsbridge section of The Bronx. The development represents an assemblage of two neighboring lots at 2838 and 2840 Webb Avenue, which will debut as a pair of two interconnected four-story buildings.

Thessalonica Court in Mott Haven, The Bronx has become the nation’s first affordable housing property to achieve both Enterprise Green Communities and the WELL Building Standard certifications. Working in collaboration, Enterprise and The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) debuted the joint certification program for affordable buildings in 2019 to encourage developers to build healthier buildings for the country’s most vulnerable populations.

HPD Reveals River Commons Affordable Housing Property in Concourse, The Bronx

The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) has revealed the first of two new affordable housing properties in the southwest corner of The Bronx. Located in Concourse near the intersection of River Avenue and East 168th Street, Site A will eventually debut as River Commons and will comprise 278 affordable apartments.

Phipps Houses Receives $188M Financial Package to Continue Construction at Lambert Houses in The Bronx
