The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) has revealed the first of two new affordable housing properties in the southwest corner of The Bronx. Located in Concourse near the intersection of River Avenue and East 168th Street, Site A will eventually debut as River Commons and will comprise 278 affordable apartments.
Phipps Houses has successfully closed on a $188 million financial package to complete the second phase of renovations at Lambert Houses. Located in the West Farms section of The Bronx, the affordable housing complex spans 12 acres of land near the Bronx Zoo.
The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) has formally announced its development partners who will help complete a major rehabilitation project at Edenwald Houses, one of the oldest and largest public housing developments in the agency’s portfolio. The portfolio comprises 40 residential buildings spread across 48 acres in the Edenwald section of The Bronx.
Camber Property Group has completed a $105 million acquisition of three Project Based Section 8 affordable housing complexes formerly owned by Omni New York. The three properties include Grace Towers, a 168-unit building in East New York, Brooklyn; Target V Apartments in the Morris Heights section of The Bronx; and Madson Apartments in East Harlem.
Permits have been filed for a three-story residential building at 2670 Schurz Avenue in Throgs Neck, The Bronx. Located between Buttrick Avenue and Davis Avenue, the waterfront lot is within walking distance of Ferry Point Park. Peter Serpico of Vertical Community Development is listed as the owner behind the applications.
