Today’s housing lottery round-up features five buildings with affordable units on Housing Connect with deadlines closing within the next seven days. Unfortunately, an update to the Housing Connect website this week has apparently left the system rather glitchy, as it now lists incorrect numbers of units remaining, and the photos and renderings have similarly become defunct, all in the midst of New York City’s worst housing crisis since the 1930s.

A new rendering has been revealed for 2500 Barker Avenue, a seven-story mixed-use building under construction in the Allerton neighborhood of The Bronx. Designed by J Frankl Associates, the 74-foot-tall building will yield 48,452 square feet, with just under 36,000 square feet of residential area and about 12,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial space.

The housing lottery closes in six days for Arthur Avenue Senior Apartments, a nine-story senior living development at 600 East 179th Street in Tremont, The Bronx. Developed by Foxy Management in partnership with Hebrew Home at Riverdale under HPD’s Senior Affordable Rental Apartments program and designed by SLCE Architects, the building has 122 apartments available on NYC Housing Connect at 30 to 50 percent of the area median income, ranging from $0 to $51,200.

L+M Development Partners, Type A Projects, BronxWorks, and the City of New York have closed on $349 million financing package to complete phase one of Bronx Point, a new mixed-use affordable housing complex in the South Bronx. As a public-private partnership, the financing entities include the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the New York City Housing Development Corporation, Empire State Development, Wells Fargo, and additional private funding sources.

Affordable Housing Complex Williamsbridge Gardens Breaks Ground in Williamsbridge, The Bronx

Construction began last week on Williamsbridge Gardens, a two-building affordable housing development in the Williamsbridge neighborhood of The Bronx. Developed by B&B Urban and L+M Development Partners and designed by MHG Architects, the pair of eight-story buildings located at 722 East 212th Street and 711 East 211th Street will bring 170 units of affordable housing to low- and moderate-income families.
