Renovation Continues for Mount Sinai Surgical Innovation Center at 432 West 58th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Construction is progressing on the Mount Sinai Comprehensive Center For Surgical Innovation (CCSI), an 11-story building at 432 West 58th Street in Hell’s Kitchen. The project involves the renovation and modernization of the 52-year-old, 172,000-square-foot structure, which the hospital purchased back from the Italian school La’Scuola d’Italia for $75.1 million in 2018 three years after parting with it for $55 million. Lendlease is the general contractor for the project, which is being carried out with the help of an $11.6 million grant from the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). The property is located between Ninth and Tenth Avenues, directly across 58th Street from the hospital’s main campus.

Construction has topped out on Bronx Logistics Center (BLC), a five-story industrial building in the Hunts Point section of The Bronx. Designed by ARCO Design/Build Industrial and developed by Turnbridge Equities, the structure will span 1.2 million square feet, including 585,000 square feet of Class A warehouse space, a five-story garage for truck fleet parking, and 1,500 surface-level parking spaces. The development is progressing on a 14.2-acre plot along East 149th Street near the East River.

The Borden Complex Tops Out at 23-30 Borden Avenue in Long Island City, Queens

Construction has partially topped out on The Borden Complex, a five-story industrial building at 23-30 Borden Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by KSS Architects for Innovo Property Group, which acquired the property for $75 million with Atalaya Capital Management and Nan Fung Group, the 166-foot-tall structure will span 840,000 square feet and house logistics and warehouse space featuring truck courts, a distribution center, two stories of film and television studios, office space, and on-site vertical parking. Earlier this summer, IPG closed on a $435 million loan from Starwood Property Trust and JPMorgan to refinance the development. March Associates Construction is the general contractor for the project, which is located between Borden Avenue and Newton Creek. HLW is the designer of the studio facility within the building.
