The affordable housing lottery recently launched for Phase1A of Innovative Urban Village at 30 Inspiration Lane in East New York, Brooklyn. Designed by Practice for Architecture and Urbanism (PAU) and SLCE Architects and developed in a joint venture between the Christian Cultural Center, Gotham Organization, and Monadnock Development, the $270 million master plan calls for affordable and supportive housing across 10.5 acres on the campus of the Christian Cultural Center.

Renderings Revealed For 60 North 1st Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

New renderings have been revealed for 60 North 1st Street, a nine-story residential building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by NA Design Studio and developed by Bruklyn Builders, the 95-foot-tall structure will span 38,120 square feet and yield 56 rental units with an average scope of 680 square feet. The project will also include ground-floor commercial space, a cellar level, a 20-foot-long rear yard, and a 12-vehicle parking garage, according to permits filed in February 2025. INPUT is the façade and interior designer for the property, which is located between Kent and Wythe Avenues.

Permits Filed for 64 Green Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed for a six-story residential building at 64 Green Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Located between Franklin Street and West Street, the lot is closest to the Greenpoint Avenue subway station, served by the G train. Pete Jacov is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Excavation Underway for Three-Building Complex at 280 Bergen Street in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn

Excavation is progressing at 280 Bergen Street, the site of an 11-story residential complex in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by Fischer Rasmussen Whitfield Architects and developed by Goose Property Management, the 302,000-square-foot project will consist of three abutting structures, each yielding 99 rental units for a total of 297 homes in studio to two-bedroom layouts. The development will also include approximately 9,700 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The property is located by the corner of Bergen Street and 3rd Avenue.

Below-Grade Work Progresses At 265 Wyckoff Street in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn

Earthwork is unfolding at 265 Wyckoff Street, the site of an 11-story residential building in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by Fischer Rasmussen Whitfield Architects and developed by Yitzchook Katz of Goose Property Management, the structure will yield 70 units. The property is located between 3rd Avenue and Nevins Street.

HELP Women’s Center Opens At 114 Snediker Avenue In East New York, Brooklyn

HELP USA, Camber Property Group, and the New York City Department of Social Services have opened HELP Women’s Center at 114 Snediker Avenue in East New York, Brooklyn. The five-story, 60,000-square-foot facility will begin operations on March 30, serving as a 200-bed intake and assessment center for women entering the shelter system. The project was developed by Camber Property Group, built by Fifth Avenue Builders in partnership with Urban Atelier Group, and designed by Curtis + Ginsberg Architects in collaboration with HELP USA.

Construction Equipment On Site At 356 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn

Construction appears to be imminent at 356 Fulton Street, an upcoming mixed-use residenital skyscraper in Downtown Brooklyn. Developed in a joint venture between Rabsky Group and Spencer Equity, the structure is planned to yield nearly 200 condominium units, 299 rental apartments, and 20,000 square feet of commercial space. The $400 million development will rise from a site bounded by Fulton Street, Smith Street, and Red Hook Lane. It’s unclear if MdeAS Architects and SLCE Architects, the original designers, are still part of the project, which called for a 43-story, 496-foot tall, 475,000-square foot tower with 421 units of market-rate and affordable housing, and 100,000 square feet of commercial space.

Facade Installation Begins At 275 Atlantic Avenue in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn

Construction is quickly progressing on the 15-story jail complex at 275 Atlantic Avenue in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by HOK and developed by the NYC Department of Design and Construction, the 339-foot-tall structure will span 712,150 square feet with a capacity of 1,040 inmates. The project will also include 30,000 square feet of community facility space, two cellar levels, two loading berths, 100 enclosed parking spaces, and an underground tunnel connecting to the adjacent courthouse. The redevelopment will replace the defunct Brooklyn Detention Complex and is bounded by Atlantic Avenue, Boerum Place, and Smith and State Streets.

14-Story Residential Building Readies for Construction at 491 Baltic Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Excavation is imminent at 491 Baltic Street, the site of a 14-story residential building in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by Isaac & Stern Architects and developed by Two Kings Real Estate, the 78,000-square-foot structure will yield 79 rental units, with 25 percent designated as affordable housing. The project will also include ground-floor commercial space. INPUT is the interior designer for the property, which is located at the corner of Baltic and Nevins Streets.
