Haussmann Development has closed on the $7.5 million purchase of a 10,166-square-foot plot for the development of a new residential building at 16-20 Convent Avenue in West Harlem, Manhattan. Designed by architect Nickolas Kazalas, the ten-story structure will yield 75 apartments with 15 reserved for residents earning 60 percent of the area median income (AMI).
Construction is progressing on The Willow, a 19-story residential building at 201 East 23rd Street in Gramercy, Manhattan. Designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by Naftali Group, the 210-foot-tall structure will yield 69 units in one- to three-bedroom layouts. The development will also include a four-bedroom penthouse on the upper levels and ground-floor retail space. The property is located at the corner of East 23rd Street and Third Avenue.
Work is set to resume at 550 West 21st Street, the site of a 20-story residential building in West Chelsea, Manhattan. Developed by Legion Investment Group, the structure will yield 75 condominium units. According to the Real Deal, the developer acquired the stalled property for $87 million last year and can build a mixed-use project measuring up to 172,000 square feet. The nearly 0.5-acre project site is located at the corner of West 21st Street and the Hudson River Greenway.
The New York Police Department’s bomb squad is set to relocate its operations to 241 West 26th Street, a six-story structure that formerly operated as a parking garage in Chelsea, Manhattan. The project involves renovations to the structure’s 37,725 square feet of interiors and refurbishments and light modifications to its exterior. Tori Operating Corp. is listed as the owner of the site, which is located between Seventh and Eighth Avenues.
Demolition is finishing up at 250-260 West 23rd Street, the site of a pair of seven- and 14-story residential building in Chelsea, Manhattan. Developed by TF Cornerstone, the structures will yield a combined 170 condominium units, with 140 in the larger building. The through-block development will also include ground-floor retail space split into five storefronts with frontage on West 23rd Street, and a residents-only parking garage for 35 vehicles on West 22nd Street.
