Construction has reached street level for Union Center, a 16-story mixed-use building at 37-16 Union Street in Flushing, Queens. Designed by Raymond Chan Architect and developed Lions Group NYC, the 189-foot-tall structure will span 207,239 square feet, with 133,000 square feet of Class A office space, community facility space, 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail, a 48-foot-long rear yard, and 142 enclosed valet parking spaces across three cellar levels. The office space will offer flexible tenant arrangements and roof terraces on the 16th floor. ZL Macedonia LLC is listed as the owner of the property, which is situated on an interior lot facing the intersection of Union Street and 38th Avenue.

Exterior work is progressing on La Vita, a 16-story residential and hotel complex at 133-25 37th Avenue in Flushing, Queens. FXCollaborative is the design architect, Raymond Chan Architect is serving as the architecture of record, and Gary Tsan under the 37 Richouse LLC is the developer of the 198-foot-tall structure, which will span 263,151 square feet and yield 150 condominium units in studio to three-bedroom layouts, as well as 202 hotel rooms, 23,000 square feet of ground-floor and below-grade retail space, and 300 parking spaces. The property stands on a nearly 1-acre interior lot bound by 36th Road to the north, 37th Avenue to the south, and a construction project at 133-09 37th Avenue to the west.

Designed by IMC Architecture and developed by Meyer Chetrit of The Chetrit Group, the 231-foot-tall structure will span 274,837 square feet and yield 359 rental units with an average scope of 653 square feet, as well as 23,108 square feet of commercial space, 17,194 square feet of community facility space, a cellar level, and 219 enclosed parking spaces. The residential program is set to include 119 income-restricted units. The 23,000-square-foot property is located between 147th and 148th Streets.

Developed by TF Cornerstone and designed by SLCE, the two-tower development spans 1.43 million square feet and boasts 1,386 rental residences. At number seven on our year-end countdown of the tallest buildings under construction in New York is The Orchard, an 823-foot-tall residential skyscraper at 42-22 Orchard Street in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by BLDG Management Co., the 70-story structure surpassed the Skyline Tower at 23-15 44th Drive for the title of the tallest building in the borough and will yield 824 rental units in studio to three-bedroom layouts, with 248 designated as affordable housing, as well as 13,000 square feet of retail space along Jackson Avenue, 100,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities, and a two-story parking garage with 207 enclosed spaces. The property is alternately addressed as 43-01 Queens Street and 27-48 Jackson Avenue and occupies a full city block along Jackson Avenue between Queens and Orchard Streets.
