Construction is complete on Astoria Point, an 11-story residential building at 21–07 Astoria Boulevard in Astoria, Queens. Designed by Kao-Hwa Lee Architects P.C. and developed by Stagg Group, the structure yields 68 rental units in studio- to two-bedroom layouts, with 21 reserved for affordable housing. The project also includes ground-floor commercial space. The property is located on an interior lot by the intersection of Astoria Boulevard and 21st Street.

Developers Close On $125 Million Loan For 70–28 Grand Central Parkway in Forest Hills, Queens

Naftali Credit Partners and Madison Realty Capital have closed on a $125 million loan to develop 70–28 Grand Central Parkway, a 13-story residential building in Forest Hills, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects, the 252,399-square-foot structure will yield 241 condominium units in studio to three-bedroom layouts. The project will also include a 100-vehicle parking garage and a collection of amenities. The 32,000-square-foot development site is located to the west of Grand Central Parkway between Jewel Avenue and 72nd Road.

Rendering Revealed for First Phase of Arverne East Affordable Development in Edgemere, Queens

A new rendering has been revealed for Arverne East Building D, a ten-story residential building in the first phase of the 116-acre Arverne East oceanfront master plan at 116 Beach 36th Street in Edgemere, Queens. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed in a joint venture between L+M, Urbane Development, The Bluestone Organization, Mega Group Development, and Triangle Equities Development Company, the 355,000-square-foot structure will yield 320 apartments. The units will consist of 230 affordable rental apartments and 90 affordable homes for purchase.

The Orchard Nears Completion At 42-06 Orchard Street in Long Island City, Queens

The 11th-tallest building on our year-end construction countdown is The Orchard, an 823-foot-tall residential skyscraper at 42–06 Orchard Street in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by BLDG Management Co., the 70-story structure will yield 824 rental units in studio to three-bedroom layouts, with 248 designated as affordable housing. The project will also include 13,000 square feet of retail space along Jackson Avenue, 100,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities, and a two-story, 207-vehicle parking garage. The property is alternately addressed as 43-01 Queens Street and 27-48 Jackson Avenue and occupies a full city block along Jackson Avenue between Queens and Orchard Streets.
